Slate Caves

Does anyone in the u.s. know where to get slate? I've checked lowes and sears and walmart and craft stores....It's absolutely ******* ridiculous!

I'm not US but surely you must have an equivalent of a builders merchants
maybe a landscapers supplier or similar

Garden centres?
Puddle stone makes an interesting alternative, but soak it first.

I used slate chippings from a garden centre, designed to be used for a path and for the base and rooves of the caves, slate wall tiles from the local tile centre. They let me buy them individually.
