i feed my 2 catfish a sinking algae pellet, but it seems that they dont get the chance to eat them,
because as soon as i drop in the pellet (next to the cat) the other fish just go mental for it,

how the hell do i get by this? i dont no if the cat is eating enough

cheers

chuck some in the other side of the tank first then quickly give some to the catfish lol or put your hand right in the tank with some in it and drop it on the bottom or feed up the others first then chuck some in for the cats

if only life was that simple haha
yeah ive tryed whatever i can, ive fed the fish with there favirote foods, but once they have devoured that then they turn back to the pellets,
my feather fin catfish is rather tame, so i literally put a pellet next to his face with my hands, he went for it, but then out of nowhere a dwarf gourami seizes the oppurtunity to steal it, followed by an army of mollies haha

TURN YOUR LIGHTS OFF! featherfin synos are nocturnal and naturally eat in the dark. it took almost a full year for my guy to eat in the light, but you can tell he would much rather be fed in the dark. If you are really concerned about it throw some bloodworms about 30 minutes after the lights go off and make sure there is not a ton of light in the room. If I do this my syno goes absolutley mad and there is not a fish in the tank that will bother him.

Are these the pellets that get bigger once the water soaks in them?
If so, put a couple in a breeding trap until they inflate, then drop them in.
My girlfriends mum does this for her BN and now the angels dont get the food.
The BN does.
:P

get a small hose say , just long enough to touch the base of the tank , break up some algae pellets and drop then down the tube right next to the cat fish ?

I feed my fish first then drop in 4 or 5 algae pellets, usually 2 make it to the bottom for the catfish and the other 2 or 3 get intercepted by the other fish inthe tank

just dropped half of one pellet in, the bumble bees didnt want it, and i dont have any plecs, so i took it back out, lol
