i siliconed my tank today, and i was told to wait 24 Hours before puting fish into the tank....

is this right? as the fish will benifit for this sized tank .. thanks..

yeah you should wait.. maybe even longer, depending how thick the silicone is..
it needs to dry properly else you will have problems

i may be wrong but i think its an hour for every mill of silicone so if your tank is made out of 10 mill glass it would take 10 hours but a few extra is always better to be on the safe side

it aint that thick, as i just needed it to stop leaking
its so annoying when they leak eh ?

at the moment there all in a 2FT :(

feel soz but, tommorrow ill be adding the gravel water and everything then they will be happier :)

the general rule, whoever makes the silicone, is 48 hours.

the thickness is only a factor up to a point, if the bead is thicker than 10mm, it will never go off. but i would suggest you wait at least the time stated on the tube. that said 5teady's experience shows it is not an exact science, when the bead is thinner. something to think on though, is the fact that the curing agent in silicone is, most often, acetone, something you really don't want your fish to come into contact with.to
