Sick New Betta

so sorry to hear that :-( you did all you could for him *hugs*

Thanks again for your help - have cleaned out the tank and will venture to purchase another "healthier" one.... fingers crossed

I'm really sorry to hear what happened to your betta. :( It sounds like the same thing that happened to mine before I got spear.. Two days went by and he was fine then the third day half his fins were gone. I switched him to a hospital tank and he died the next morning :(

Turns out he actually had a very bad case of columaris.. Life can be very cruel sometimes..

Agh shame it's tough hey? So much optimism for the little creatures only for them to perish... been quite a day fish loss wise - a danio was lodged in the filter outlet of all places - needless to say he was not alive - what a way to go eugh! :/

Sorry for your loss :(
Next time, try finding another shop in your area if you can. Pets At Home aren't really very good with fish, and should be avoided when buying fish for your tank. I'm sure you'll find a lovely, healthy betta soon

So sorry to hear this,- I was really praying that he'd make it  :rip:

You did your best for him and I'm sorry that he just was too far gone for you to save. I agree with lilfishie about going elsewhere if poss to get your next betta boy. I know of several pet shops that sell fish within reasonable travelling distance. I tend to stick to just the one though as their tanks are always spotless, full of healthy fish,- and the staff seem to actually know what they are talking about!! The people who work in the fish section only work in that section. Too many shops have people selling fish when they know absolutely nothing about them! Good luck anyway :)

sorry, just saw the rest of the posts. Thay are fighters and so smart, hope you found a new guy that fits in well. I did have a glo danio in my tank and my Betta hated him, I also heard they are fin nippers although mine never did. He was just to active for my grumpy old man. Good luck and sorry again I know they are easy to get attached to
