Sick New Betta

does it look fluffy at all? i'd get some finrot/fungus treatment just incase but fresh clean water should do the trick :good:

any chance you could get a picture of him?

Thanks - I added Interpet Anti Fungus and Fin Rot treatment and some aquarium salt too - the water is fresh yesterday, amm and nit levels are both 0. Temp 25C.

I will do a pic now and put it up = he sure looks sadder than sad... please tell me honestly once you see him if you think he has a fighting chance and if not - whats is the kindest way to end his misery... :dunno:

oh also not fluffy at all

you may need to upload you pictures to photobucket or imageshack, then copy the img code and paste it in your reply box :good:

sorry taking ages - so much for being "goo" at this IT stuff hhhmmmmmmmm

Thanks so much for your help again and patience - so I have given the tank salt and fin rot treatment = how much water change daily? The fin rot treatment says to retreat after 7 days ... well done on Raja - hes lovely - can i ask why the water seems tanned in colour...

it was because there was wood in the tank before it broke.

i'm tempted to say 50% daily but see how 25% goes :good:

great will do, thanks. I have bogwood in with him too so waiting for the water to change - it still leaks even having been soaked for weeks!
since I have only had him a few days - would this rot have come with him from the pet shop? or stress from being moved and new tank mates etc :S

I'm really sorry to hear what happened to your betta. :( It sounds like the same thing that happened to mine before I got spear.. Two days went by and he was fine then the third day half his fins were gone. I switched him to a hospital tank and he died the next morning :(

Turns out he actually had a very bad case of columaris.. Life can be very cruel sometimes..
