Siamese Fighter

Hi guys I've notcied a lot of people keep these in a tank on their own. Don't they get stressed being alone? I'm only askin as I've got a spare 25 litre tank here and I can't put I fighter in with the fish I've got in my 130 litre plus its probally over stocked.

I'm wondering if I could put a fighter and few small fish in this smaller tank if so what could it be?

You could get away with one male betta with 3-4 ghost shrimp at max, No other fish imo.

Nope, they live on their own in the wild and they are solitary fishes, they actually do well in community setups but would still do well alone.

+1 they live in rice paddy type places each to there own tertiary, they fight if they come across another fish which looks like them (hence the name) 25L would be fine for one

They're fine on their own. If kept with other males they'll fight to the death, and females will probably end up dead sooner or later if kept with males. I've seen groups of females living together peacefully though.

Yes people keep sororities of female bettas (not in 25l though) maybe 20g minimum

they dont get stressed alone. they are solitary fish and shouldnt be kept with others of there own kind unless you are doing a sorority or breeding them. they do well in community setups... sometimes if your fish is aggressive you shouldnt put any other fish in with him or her, a 35 liter is okay for 1 betta, 2 or 3 endlers, and some small shrimp. i have noticed that my male bettas are alot more alert and active when i show them another betta daily or when i put a mirror up to their tank for 5 to 10 minutes 1once a day every day of the week, so maybe they do enjoy seeing other fish of their own kind

i am on an all betta site and the usual recommendation is a heavily planted 10 gallon tank for a sorority of 5 bettas, here is a good page on them http
