Hi siamese algae eater eating food but swimming like a torpedo then sinking like he can't take his own weight. Colour looks fine and no visible wounds. Is everything OK?

He might have swim bladder disorder, I'm not sure though because of the limited information.

Try to see for yourself if it looks like it has the symptoms, and if it doesn't fix itself soon then the best option would be euthanasia, I have seen people do surgery to fix it too but that will probably not be an option.

Hi, Siamese algae eaters don't have a swim bladder so what you are describing sounds normal, I have kept these a few times and when they stop swimming they just sink.

Huh i did not know that, well I've never had siamese algae eaters.
When i think about it, it does make sense since they just stay on the bottom and don't need to stay still in the water.
