I have a pair of green severums (1-2 inch, still small). They are currently in a 75 gallon tank with a featherfin squeaker, 2 angels, 6 lemon tetra and 6 corydoras. This will be changing soon! The severum hide all day. I rarely see them! They used to be in a 55 gallon tank with kribs and the featherfin. They were always front and center in that tank. The 75 has very poor lighting, which will be fixed this weekend. Why would they be so shy??? All water stats are good. They have been in the 75 for about 2 months now.

They are my favorite fishes... I want to see them!

Thanks.

If you have a more dominant, bigger fish then it is only natural for them to hide. What are the angels like with them and do they come out to feed?

It could be just the position/lighting/movement around the new tank they are in.

I have two tanks, and have tried many severums in both of these tanks. They ALL hate one tank and love the other, whatever the tankmates are, or the set-up. I am convinced it is just the position of the tank in the room they somehow don't get on with. Could be the same with yours in their new tank.

Also, sevs do tend to get more confident as they mature.
