Fish Fanatic
I have a pair of pearls for about 5 months that were very active in the beginning but as my stocking went up and more fish been added they became rather shy. They are by far the biggest fish in the tank and second biggests would be growing Bolivian rams. There is absolutely no aggression in the tank and it's semi- heavily planted, but pearls (especially male) prefer to hide in the bushes most of the time. They come out very quickly for food and look very nicely coloured by now. I've also noticed that they are scared like hell when you touch the glass with a single finger somewhere around where they are (swimming away like a torpedo).
I realise that they can be timid at times, but didn't expect them to be that shy. Is that normal? I'd like them to be a centrepiece of the tank, but that's quite hard if you can't actually see them most of the time.
