Shrimp And Other

My brother is now interested in fish keeping (Mine are so pretty

) and he wants his tank to be mostly shrimp and perhaps a livebearer or 2.
What is the smallest possible tank that could house some ghost and/or cherry shrimp, and possibly 1 guppy and 1 sword tail. Would 1 guppy and 1 sword tail work in a tank? Also, he might like to have some snails.
Suggestions?
EDIT:
Oh right, I forgot, would fry be safe with the shrimp? He might take some of my fry.

4-5 gallon and I would choose a species and choose the smaller sex (normally male) and have a shoal of 4, endlers would be ideal. The shrimp and fry depends all Atyid & Palaemonetes shrimp species can be kept with fry, machrobrachium cannot as they will eat them.

Is there any way he can get a 10g? With a 10g he can get all sorts of fish and shrimp combos.

It's best to go with 10 gals + really. Cherry shrimp should be fine with fry, but Adult ghost shrimp might have a go and try to eat them if they are tiny.

Ghost, glass or grass shrimp. Red cherry shrrimp or amano's would be ideal.

Yes, I would say a 10 gal, with some cherry shrimp. Then he can get a swordtail and guppy.

P.S. Cherry shrimp are fine with fry, but cherry shrimp babies may get eaten by adult fish. (Because cherry shrimp often reproduce in tank set-ups.)
