I was looking in my tank the other day, and found my first (and favorite) Kuhli Loach floating at the surface, and I thought he was just playing around, because he did that a lot. But he looked like he was on his side, so I knew he was dead. :-( He looked happy the day before! I checked the other fish that were in my tank (currently just 2 Otos and 3 other Kuhlis), and they looked pretty much okay, the Otos playing around, the Kuhlis huddled up all in one place. I only found it strange because they usually stay apart most of the time (they have some cute personalities :D). I tested, and the ammonia was under .25ppm, but I decided to do a water change in case. Now, I just came back from a vacation, and I saw 2 of them, one almost completely white (probably my new-ish one), the other more shy than usual. I didn't think that it was THAT strange, but is this something that, like the title suggests, I should be worrying about?

I lost a kulhi the other day. For no apparent reason he was at the front of the tank (most unusual) lying on his side then suddenly squirming about like a mad thing, clearly distressed; I did the decent thing. My other five kuhli's are as hermit-like as always, coming out only at night and completely as normal. Sometimes they just get ill/old and die; as do we all.

Worry only if you lose another one.

PS Love your signature dog, so sweet.

Alright. The pale one returned to normal anyway today. :good: I will miss him though.....
PS: Thank you! I love my big baby dog! :p She does that whenever she's bored, but she also dances and sings. Husky Border Collie mix, one of the most diva and high maintenance breeds.
Edit: she also does a "turtle" pose. :D
