I contacted livefish.com.au to inquire as they don't have a gender selection while buying pearl gourami. They replied saying they con't gaurantee the gender will be one male and 1 female. they said they can try their best. What should i do??

Not sure why they can't guarantee the gender as they are easy to tell apart!! Is there no lfs near you that sell them?

Maybe a stupid idea (but maybe not)

Could you order let's say four and then rehome two of them later once you are sure you got a male and female pair?

Pearl gouramis are best kept as a 2-3 female : 1 male ratio, so getting more than 2 would be a good thing anyway :good: when they are young they are quite difficult to tell apart, but once they grow bigger you can tell the males from the females. How big will they be if you buy them from this supplier?

They will be approximately 5 cm!

Then it's fairly reasonable for them to say they can't sex them, IMO. I couldn't sex mine at that size. Get a few, grow them up with plenty of good food and clean water and once they start to become sexable then keep the females and one male and rehome the others :good:
