i have 5 glass catfish and one has a white tip on the bottom of his tail fin is this a problem if so what should i do?

Does it look like fungus? (Search for images.) It would also be very useful to know set-up information!

Glass catfish need very clear, clean water, in a large (they can grow to 4"/10cm) well planted, peaceful tank; they often die of stress or stress related diseases, like fungus and whitespot, in 'normal' community tanks, and if kept in shoals of less than 8 or 10.

Glass catfish are very prone to bacterial infections. It will look like white, hazy patches on their body. As the OP said, they need insanely clean water at all times or will succumb to the infection very quickly. They also do terribly unless in large groups. I have 6 and feel that is the bare minimum of numbers to make them feel safe and secure. They also don't like bright light and need some plants or rocks to hide behind. They also do not tolerate medication very well as they are very sensitive. They are fine in a broad pH range and do well in temps of high 70's, water can be hard as well but clean water is the key. Stress will also cause them to get the white patches.

Sorry about your loss and good luck with the others.
