Hi, I answered an online ad for a 72gallon bow front with stand. I emailed the guy and asked about the tank. He emailed back this:

hi,i have two flower horn
1 big tasax
1 jaguard
all the fish still inside the tank,i live in toronto ,close western rd and st clair ave
my contact number is 416-***-****,if you want come to see ,please let me know
thank you

The ad said nothing about fish. After reading a little bit on here about "tasax" that angelmouse and miss wiggle think could mean a "texas" cichlid, and a jaquar cichlid, it doesn't really seem to look like they should a. be in the same tank together and b. be in that size tank together.

So I guess my questions are:

1. Can they be together in that tank?
2. If no, which do I give away and how?

If anyone has any information or suggestions, please let me know.

I wanted the tank, not fish lol.

Thanks

I don't think they can be in the same tank together at adult sizes. the jaguar and flowerhorns will be somewhere between 12" and 16" and the texas will, i believe, get to about a foot. Flowerhorns and jaguars are both extremely aggresive and from what i've read texas' can be pretty close. if i were in your shoes i would get rid of the jag, texas and the less attractive flowerhorn but that's just because i like flowerhorns more than texas cichlids and jags need a minimum of somewhere over 100 gallons of tank space. it's really your choice tho. good luck

if I were in your prediciment I would probably keep the texas but that is because I have already had jags and while I found them nice to look at that was about it their agressiveness was only really previlant when one of the two females that I had laid eggs, as for the flowerhorns they are only good as garden fertilizer. either way the 72 gallon bowfront will only be large enough for one of the 4 fish listed.

Flowerhorns are hybrid fish and where I live small ones go for 300+ canadian dollar! Personally, keep the nicer Flowerhorn and re-home the rest. The store that I work at we take in fish that can't be kept so phone a few locally owned stores!

Good luck!

depending on the quality of said FH which I am guessing aren't high end otherwise those FH would be in their own tanks.

well for me i dont like flowerhorns, and not had dealing with texas's but jags in my oppinon are great i love my brutis hes such a great beautiful fish, although pictures ive seen of texas cichlids are also beautiful :good:
