Back in high school, during the Triassic Period, I had a friend who made a regular practice of shoplifting expensive fish. First off- he was huge, with a threatening appearance. He was 6''7", 300 lbs and had a beard and wild looking eyes . He would don a large parka into which he had inserted large plastic bags full of aquarium water. Then he would go to local pet stores and while "browsing" reach into tanks and grab fish that were either expensive, or that he just wanted and was too broke to buy. Apparently he had very few casualities and managed to stock a 29 gallon tank with a quartet of beautiful discus. He also had several oscars and Jack Dempsys. On the plus side, he was a talented aquarist and had spawned and raised tanks of serpae tetras and harlequins, among others. Just thought folks might get a kick about one guy's way of beating the high cost of stocking.

Sounds like a bit of a freak

unfortunately i'm sure it happens, in the past we have had a few turtles pinched during days when we have had just one member of staff on

I dont know why you would steal oscars and jd's. Unless they were alot more rare back in the triassic, they are pretty cheap. I guess you would just do it to get the thrill of the act. If crime does it for ya... I guess.... -_-

As skilled as your friend may have sounded, those are 'ordinary' fish, now if he wanted points, he should have gone for for fish that could fight back :P. Like to see someone try and lift out a mbu or rhom. Now they would need handling with care, weapons they know how to use :)

i did it when I was 14 as was very light fingered. a convict if memory serves me corretc. daft
