And for constant repeating of advice ... should every advice be different every single time said?

Often times yes. Every situation varies to some degree.

Well of course for the people in situations it would change, but for the more general public with more options ("Hi, I'd like a betta!) is what I'm referring to.

And I'd appreciate strong evidence of this, like 3-5 links or so.

Is this enough?
Its just, look at my new boy, inrtoducing joe bloggs, bla bla bla, cloggin up the forum and putting people with geniuine questions topics down the line.

do you want me to go on?

They are not needing help, just showing off, its a constant on going thing in this section...

May i just add...

WHY have a photo section if THEY ARE NOT USING IT

Fair enough, but I was referring to the hi-jacking part. Just realized I didn't mention that, but no harm.

I do agree with this though - probably 'cause this part of the thread is so much more populated, etc etc. But it should be used more often, though.

The general public has just as many options as anyone else, as well as just as many restrictions.

Thats exactly my point, the betta section is more populated, so they post here cos they know they will get more views, more replies, more ATTENTION..... Sad if u ask me.

While that's true

so they post here cos they know they will get more views, more replies, more ATTENTION..... Sad if u ask me.

I still find that a little harsh ("more ATTENTION...Sad..."), and you may see it negatively, but me personally, don't mind seeing them all the time. Hi-jacking is different (but again, I haven't seen that). And I've been through both threads, this and the photo thread, to see pics of them. Idunno how this will exactly encourage people to go over there, and if it really posed as a nuisance, or as in more negative and like a pest, admins/mods could move their thread over to the Photo and people would probably follow thinking "The thread'll get moved anyway, might as well go there."

I get what you're saying, I just see it differently.

Harsh i may be, but i say it how it is.

I wont beat around the bush il just get straight to the point.

Which is...

USE THE BLOODY PICTURE SECTION

We'll have to see how that plays out then.

I think they should get one mod on the case to move all the pics that aint even questions etc to move them to the appropriate section.

Or find a member who is willing to be a moderator to undertake this duty alone.

Yeah, that'll probably be a more effective method, like what I said earlier, the "Since it'll moved anyway, might as well go over there" idea.

I'm not a fan of people who post just to say that they're unhappy with a forum and all that nonsense. If you're displeased with this betta forum, why not find another that suites your needs rather than post about how you're not "popular" or your posts aren't?

The OP has been here for some time, long enough to see the betta forum deteriorate further into "here's my new fish fido". Have a look at my posting history, you'll see that I don't post here often. The quality of the information here has gone way down in recent months. Sure, I still read, and I am guilty of viewing some of these "what should I call him?" threads. But how many times can you say "beautiful fish, you scored a good deal" and still stay interested? I just think that when considering the fate of a forum that many of us have grown to love, we should strive for quality of posts and not quantity...or maybe just put the picture threads where they belong.
