Shame On You, Tetra!

I just sent an inquiry message to tetra about the filter. Just got tired of this ridiculous over reaction and took some initiative.

Do you realise how rude this sounds. People are entitled to their opinions on a topic without you making comments like this, whoever they are aimed at. Lets try and keep this on a friendly level shall we ?

I just sent an inquiry message to tetra about the filter. Just got tired of this ridiculous over reaction and took some initiative. I should hear back in 24 hours or so and I'll let you know what they say.

I contacted them 3 days ago and I've yet to hear anything from them

Perhaps TheShrimpGirl knows someone at Tetra that you don't then because she seems to believe she will hear back from them within 24 hours. Good luck anyway, whoever hears back first.

Maybe just the festive season mate hang in there, i have to sent 2 emails for non fish realted stuff for other companies and the same, should be business as normal in a few days for most bug compaines

Companies like Tetra are closed until after the New Year i think retailers cant buy or get hold of them until then... or at least, companies like Tetra and i doubt they are an exception.

Apologies if I offended you. Rest assured that I did not post this to be rude to anyone. I was simply stating my opinion on this matter, which is that it was an over reaction. I was not intending it to be a snide remark.

I shall try and be more careful with my wording next time for your benefit and if you have a problem, then please PM me and we can discuss it in private.

My message was returned to me due to a faulty e-mail address so i have no idea what their answer would've been. I did, however resend the message and it went through.

I have asked them questions before and received an answer within 24 hours through their e-mail service. That's why I was thinking i would recive a reply within 24 hours.

I'm sure that they test everything before they send it out and that they have field tested this model of filter for this size tank and had no problems with it.That's why they packaged it this way. If they had tested it and had a problem with it, then they would not have sold these kits with that filter.

Come on and have some faith in them for crying out loud!

Don't Tetra also sell instant cycling products? I'm pretty sure a lot of companies will do the bare minimum to keep themselves above board.

I guess it all boils down to word choice at the end of the day. Please dont do it just for my benefit though, do it for everyone I guess it was the way you said it was "rediculous". To you it may have been an over reaction, but several people felt the same way on the topic. Anyway, all good. I don't bear grudges. Happy New Year

Pity about the email, LOL. I guess the Christmas period would have caused delays. I do know that from the filtration side of things, their customer service is second to none. Thats just another reason why I was suprised they were selling aquarium kits with a filter that stated it was intended for something smaller. Oh well, I am sure it will all work out ok in the end.

I cant beleive this has gone on for so long! I bet if most were to look at the kit being sold with aquariums these days, its the bare minimum to pass, or just below. I see in in small stores, and at chain stores.

As TOS, BA and others have said, at best you can moan and see what you get, if you get nothing, you get nothing. You, on your own, are not going to pin a multi nation multi-million pound corporate to the wall with claims that your PF10 isnt big enough for your tank. They wont care and you'll probably get an apology and a voucher at best. If you dont like what they have supplied with the kit, either take the whole kit back, or buy a new filter/add a small powerhead.

Apologies if it sounds harsh, it isnt meant to. Its a harsh world.

A voucher and an apology would be great. If it were me I would be happy with that. Oh, but BTW, its not the OP who is "claiming" the PF10 is not big enough. Its the manufacturer On the packaging for that filter it categorically specifies what tank size its meant for. But I won't drag all that up again, LOL. And just so everyone knows. Me, the OP, and Dieses Machen are pals again
