I have 2, and they have been chasing each other bits and bobs around their tank, one is significantly larger than the other, had them both from being very small... maybes 10-12mm now their about 30mm and 47mm.

Wondering how to tell a male from female, and enyone else seen them behaving like this?

Without googling I would not know if it applies to "Hong Kong Plecs" (horrid common name!), but I believe Sewellia spp. can be sexed by looking at the leading edge of their pectoral fins going round to the side. Males have more pronounced right-angle bend looking from above, whereas females have a much more rounded from edge leading to the side... If that makes sense! :D

I am not going to lie, i was lazy and never bothered googling just wacked it on here incase people already know, i well try identify the Genus and species. I think i know what you mean, so will have a look and get back. Thanks for the quick response and info :)

I imagine that yours will most likely be Pseudogastromyzon Cheni or Pseudogastromyzon Myersi. As far as I am aware they are sexed by viewing their nasal tubercules when they are trying to breed. Males are larger. Females are also broader around the rear of the pectoral fin and have fuller looking bellies. I have a few Myersi (5) and there body shapes are all very similar with no noticeable differences in the pectoral angle like there are on the Sewellia sp.
