What a biased comment...

There are some fantastic Pets at home stores, just because one member of staff doesn't know many of the sexual dimorphism's of Rams, doesn't instantly make the store they work for a bad place.

my nearest pets @ home is crap, i went to one in manchester which was good though.

with the rams i wouldn't take any back i think there is a chance that the top picture is female, how big are they?
if you take them back they will only be able to guess what they give you anyway, they seem to be ok together from the picture, what are they like, 2 males would fight.
in the bottom picture the one on the right has a longer 3rd ray in the dorsal fin which would indicate male in most cases, give them a bit of time and see what happens.

I would say they are 3cm ?? And together they seem fine, they usually stay together.

3cm! thats small, i've never seen a bolivian ram at 3cm!
i would deinitely leave them and see how they develop, its not an easy thing sexing, especially at that size!

ah ok, well in my lfs they are at least 2" for £2.50 each, thats about the average i see them at!
either way its hard at the best of times to sex them while they are small so my advice is to keep them until they are big enough and then take it from there.

Figured they are males. Now they've settled in they seem to have territories, one has one side of the tank and one has the other side. However they also done this thing were they locked mouths and went round. Is this dangerous? Do i need to take one back soon?

no thats how they fight. for larger cichlids if they liplocked often u would have to consider separating them, but bolivians are fairly incapable of doing damage.

it is also how female cichlids test the strength of males
