I have a 260 litre tank.
Originally put in 1 gold and 1 Opaline Gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus). I thought they were female. They have been fighting a lot so internet research suggested adding a male to keep them in order, so I added 1 Moonlight Gourami (Trichogaster microlepis) that was sold to me as a male. I actually didn't knwo at the time they were different species but the guy at fish shop told me that yes they can breed, though I'm thinking, no, they actually can't.

Just need some help confirming the sexes. Is it right that gold/opaline are female and the moonlight is male?
Can they breed?
Should I go and add 2 male Trichogaster trichopterus or just 1? Or not bother?

Cheers!

all three are females you can tell this from the dorsal fin females have a short rounded fin and males have a longer pointed fins :good:

Moonlight gourami - Trichogaster microlepis
Males will have a red to orange tinge on the pelvic fins and an extended dorsal fin. The females will have a more yellowy pelvic fin.
