I`v read many posts about a pair of oscars needing a minimum of around 70 gallon tank to live in but what size tank would be ok for 2 severums?

i`d guess at (dunno if i`ll be right lol)

oscars are messy and more aggressive also growing to around 16" and need a min of 70 gallon

severums arnt as messy and are a lot more peaceful and grow usually to around 8" so at a guess i`d think around 30 gallon

but how far out am i ?????? :S

i currently have 1 8" gold in a 15g sounds small but is only tempory and is better than the 30g he shared in the shop with 8-10 fish all 10" plus :S

i`m picking the 8" green 1 up tomorow which can go straight into the 30g thats in a 5-10g in the shop because it got beat up and that was the only spare tank they had  but also i`m getting it for free the same as i got the gold for free :D

For a sexed male and female pair of severums you will want a minimum of a 40g or a 55 if they are unsexed or you want to keep any tankmates with them. Severums may be peaceful 90% of the time but when they start breeding they can be just as nasty as any other cichlid and males are still territorial towards each other when mature.
