short story: i am planning out my stock for a 75g 48" x 18" x 21" tank.

this is the current stock i was planning:
1 severum
12 preacox
12 cories
12 tetras (rummynose?)
1 pleco

would the rummynose be compatible?
is this too much stock?

Looks fine to me, obviously get the severums small, give the rummys time to grow up a bit, but otherwise no problems with that stocking that I can see.

yes i plan on getting the severum small.........is there any other tet. that would be recommended?

also is there somewhere online where i could get a severum? in the US?

liveaquaria only stocks green and gold.

any GOOD lfs should be able to order you pretty much whatever you want ours just got red spotted sevs and had some rotkiels not too long ago so i would check with them first

I wouldnt put Rummys with a Sev,Mines big enough to swallow 2 aof them at once lol!

I use Black Widows with mine as they are deeper bodied,I didput some smaller Serpaes in there and he ate them all in seconds.

Also is corys really a good idea with such a big fish? if so i'd be interested myself....I think Brochis would be a better idea.

Corydoras are fine with severums, my three dont take the slightest bit of interest in them, never heard of problems with corys and sev's.

Are yours Adult tho? My Adult Sevs could fit 2 fingers in there mouth easy and tend to eat anything they can fit in there mouth's.

Largest is at 6", the other two at 3", so no not full grown, but why they would suddenley turn on fish they grew up with, when they are happily fed plenty of various foods, would suprise the heck outta me. Plenty of people, including lots on here, keep cories with sevs and other large cichlids without problems. Ive got rasboras (albeit not planned) in there and they could all easily fit them in their mouths, but they dont even seem to notice them in there. If, in the future, the situation should change, I will of course eat my words

seconded ive got a red sev at 5 to 6 inches and a rotkeil at almost 8 inches . ive got 18 corys in total and none get touched at all.

Oh cool Fair enough,Mine so far has eaten 5 1" Tiger Barbs and 4 1" Serpae Tetras plus 1 of my smaller Black Widows,However he leaves the Bigger ones alone.

I heard adult Uarus are great with small fish tho,I have seen them with Neons and Livebearers before.

I'm tempted to tr some Corys now because I could have a huge shoal in my current tank :)

(my Sevs are both around 11",1 gold with a red face and the other Green)

Maybe yours arent as placid, or ours just havent discovered the cory delicacy :)

I must admit I didnt expect the rasboras to make it for long, but they have been there now for four months, along with a ghost knife (7") and still merrily swimming around.

You can try some corys, but please dont shout at us if they disappear overnight

Haha :) I may try a couple and see how they get on,I do love them :)

My Pearl may eat them tho or my FM's bully them.

i have already called the nearest fs to me........they didnt want to bother with special ordering anything for me.

i guess i could try petco, and petland....they are the only 2 fs left in tucson.

i would love to get either red spotted or rotkiel. that would be sooo great, just dont want to pay $100 on aquabid.

well good luck on your hunt
