NBG, i guess i opened a big can of worms.
i had never even heard of an imperial gallon.
i think i got my stocking all squared away.
Thanks for all the advice!
This is the tank I am looking to get in a few weeks so I thought I would check the dimensions myself. The manufacturers dimensions are given as being 121cm X 46cm (at the widest point) X 64cm or 47.5" X18" X 25" (LxWXH). So taking an average width of 43cm/17" to allow for the bow front and using the aquarium calculater on this forum you get a volume of 333l/88USG/73imp gal. A good deal more than the 260l stated but a long way off 450l. I am thinking, is it just possible that the volumes quoted by manufacturers are for a populated tank with all fittings and gravel already allowed for, or do you think that they can't do primary school maths. Hope this helps.
