Setup And Ready!

Hey guys couple of quick questions if i can....
Just setup my new 4ft tank, all setup and filled been left a day for temp to come up which it has.

Have a fully matured external eheim filter that come with the tank and has been running on my smaller tank while i setup the 4ft one,
Questions.......

Do i have to leave the filter running on the new tank beofre adding any fish?

How many fish should i add, slowly or put them all accross, there is 5 Clown Loachs at the moment?

dying to add the loachs to their new home but dont wanna cause any issues for them

In theory the filter you have on your smaller tank will hae maintained suficient bacteria to accomodate the fish in there. There should be no problem swapping the filter and fish over to the new tank together. You would then have to slowly increase the stocking in the new tank however, as there would only be enough bacteria to cope with the current load.

Don't also add anything that the other filter is not already taking care of. You need to bring up the biological load slowly. Once you know the new tank and filter combination is stable, you can add a percentage of that load about once a week with good testing between adds, just in case the filter is not keeping up.
