Setting Up A 75 Gallon Tank Directly On Bare Floor?

hi, I recently had a disaster involving one of my 55 gallon tanks. Turns out it sprung a pressure leak. Had it set up for 2 months on a stand, until one day (aug 25th) I woke up to a lake in my living room!!! almost got evicted turns out the stand I had it on had an ever so slightly "U" shape warp to the stand . so now I had to temporarily re home my surviving Oscar into my 35g guppy tank-he thinks lifes great all the free food he can ever want lol. Now im acquiring a 75g tank for it, I now because of that disaster DONT trust any large tank on a stand EVER again!!!!! so my question is can I set this tank up directly on a bare carpeted floor with no stand and not have to worry about it to springing a pressure leak one day?. ive read if u have a stand to lay a 3/4 inch thick pce of Styrofoam on top of the stand THEN put the aquarium on top of that THEN fill up the tank. (The Styrofoam apparently automatically levels ur tank if its off lvl a bit?) so can I just lay the Styrofoam on the bare carpeted floor then put my tank on it and set it up there? or since the tank will be on a carpeted floor do I not need Styrofoam? (I don't care about the tank being "eye level") after that accident I don't trust ANY large tank on a stand!

Consider that you will never be able to siphon much from the tank unless you have a long hose that ends below floor level somewhere. It will be impossible to vac the bottom without a Python of that lone hose ending lower than the floor.

If you do not trust any stands you can purchase, which lets be honest, are not built as strong as they should be, try building your own. You can customize the stand to look the way you want it to, and have a stand stronger than anything you could purchase. The internet is your friend in this case. also look up uarujoey on youtube. He does videos of anything DIY for the aquarium world, and has a couple videos taking you through building a tank stand and canopy. Its very simple, but very strong.

Do a DIY stand.  I just bought some concrete blocks and put a piece of plywood on top.  The blocks should be pretty cheap at Home Depot (or whatever UK version there is).  Concrete is very strong in compression.
 
One layer of blocks, don't stack them unless you have some masonry to put in between.

Perhaps you want to consider a non wooden stand, a metal one for example, would never warp for a start!
 
No idea what your tank dimensions are so don't even know if they are available for your tank size.

I've always had my tanks on dressers, lol. I really would like to have them both in the living room to show off but just don't have any room.
