Hi Guys I have a 25L nano tank that i want to set up as a marine tank. What would i need to set this up. I have Nothing just the tank. I will have a good read up at the same time but a quick guide maby some links on the equipment to buy. Nothing to expensive.

I know i can only keep maby a Fire shrimp in there

Thanks

Fish Only for now I will add coral In a few months but would rather start of with fish only

You would need around 2lbs of live rock per gallon and a 1.5 inch live sand substrate, Lighting (LEDS would be great a tank that size for now, but when you get corals, you may want to upgrad to a more expensive LED set or a T5 setup), a filter (an internal filter would suffice for a tank that size, a small powerhead for extra circulation, marine salt, a hydrometer to measure the salinity of the water, a heater (1w per litre, so a 25watt heater), a marine test kit to make sure the water is safe for the fish. A protein skimmer won't be needed for a tank that small. Thermometer and FISH!

(don't forget to cycle it first)

Refractometersare superior to hydrometers.

Have a read of the articles in the pinned section.

Thanks guys How much do you think i could set this up for.

I would guestimate at £160-250 (including LR excluding coral+fish+RO(DI) unit) depending on the quality of equipment you buy. For example, a fluval U1 or an all pond solutions own brand filter, or a hydrometer or refractometer etc :good:
