Seneye - Christmas Present

I'm thrilled to say my daughter and son-in-law have given me a Seneye for Christmas. Currently 'soaking' special card in my tank for 24 hours and have set up online thingy. Anyone have any experience or advice?

well, they dont always getr the readings right... my mate used one and put it in a tank (no fish) with lethal ammonia concentrations and it just sat there and didnt alarm or anything!

i think the seneye would be much better if it read things that werent so easy to read at a glance anyway tbh. things like water temp and water level can be seen quite clearly using eyes..... i believe it tests for light too but if not setting up a planted tank it isnt much use and ammonia can be done using a test kit within 3 minutes, which is quicker than starting up the laptop....

i hear they are trying to develop nitrate and nitrite tests on it which would make it seem more of a decent purchase but it just seems like an expensive toy to have running in the tank to me.

but as it was a present it didnt cost you a penny so wahey! enjoy it and be sure to give us feedback on your results you find i have £82 credit a t a useless lfs and was concidering getting one but for the reasons given above just couldnt justify it even though they are about £55 now after quite a fast price reduction....

im not too sure if the online results are given in english either but i may be wrong on this.... could you confirm please?

I can't say they are ''naff'' because my ''mate'' has not got one!
But please keep us informed of your experience with this, it is obviously the way forward - I used to moan at fluff on my needle when playing singles but rejected CDs for a long time! The ZX 80 was not great but.......
