I think I have changed my mind. I said that I didn't want to mix anything from the 55 into the 75. So I was not seeding or even using the same Python water changer. But the more I think about it, the more I just want to go ahead, at least with the seeding part.
I am not actually going to seed with part of the biological filter media. But what I think I am going to do is take the biological media that will eventually go into the 75, and put it inside the filter housing of the 55. And just let the beneficial bacteria start to colonize it. Then it should cut way down on the time it takes to cycle the 75. It will be in there at least a month before I start cycling the 75. I have a family trip to take and I am not starting until I am back from that.
At least I think this is a good idea. Any one more knowledgeable think it isn't?
