Sanitizing Drift Wood

Before you do any of these things you must allow the wood to dry completely before it is safe for use in your tank, the sap of some trees is poisonous to aquatic lifeforms. Hang the branch up in a shed or some other out building and leave it for at least a month for all the sap to dry up.
