long term use of resin as decoration items for your tank???

Here is what I cant tell you re plastic or nylon use relating to FW tanks. I use hoses and pumps for emptying and refilling most of my tanks. Emptying into buckets I use a clear pvc hose like a Python hose and I also use a vacuum. I mostly start short hoses by sucking on them. Vacuuming is easy to start scoop water raise and as the water moves out put the vac back into the water.

For bigger tanks I use a couple of different size pumps connected to either clear pvc or I use the python hoses. These have plastic garden hose compatible connections. All of my other hoses as well as my utility sink have similarly compatible connections. For refilling tanks I use drinking water quality hoses. These come with metal connections.

I do not want to use metal in tanks where I can avoid it except for stainless steel, So I have a number of ba valves, wands and a Python J hook which are all plastic or nylon. I cut off the ends of the drinking water hose and replace them with plastic ones. My utility sink has a split ball valve controlled splitter which allows me to chose to control both the flow of water into the sink as well as an output hose about 6feet long which lets me to fill the tanks nearby directly or to fill containers from which I will pump water into tanks.

I have been using all of this almost since day one. I have never seen any ill effects. Often I will leave the pump end of a hose in a can with water over night. For the larger punps they have had pvc connections which allow me to screw a plastic hose end into the intake of the pump.

I can also say that I use veggies clips to hold zucchini for BN and shrimp. These are a white plastic and often left in a tank for days.

I do not believe any of these thinks leech anything into tanks. I am more worried about metal connections.

I would bet that a resin ornament is even safer than the things above which I use.

My pumps are older Mag Drive for higher gph and Eheim Hobby for the smaller gph needs.

From my understanding fully cured resin from reputable sources is perfectly safe. It's the paint or coatings that you need to watch for.
As long as you didn't get it from Temu it's probably fine.
