Sand Question

So since i was looking for sand for my tank and my LFS only sells one type of sand (Ultra Reef) that says its good for both Salt and fresh water tanks, i bought this black colored sand. The problem is it has made my tank really really dark looking, it's just not as bright at all. There are no fish in atm btw. Anyway what should i do to make my tank brighter? More powerful lights? SOme bright green foilage?

Plants and fish, and also a black back ground will make things stand out more.

thats nothing. my sand took 2 days to settle, but a couple of weeks to completely clear

did you put the sand in AFTER the water?

Wow suprising story here. as i was going to go check which filter i have since it left my mind i noticed the filter wasn't running! oops lol. good thing there are no fish in. maybe now since it's running it'll clear? hopefully?

luckily its been kept wet so nothing SHOULD have died.

I'd do tests though as if it wasnt running, it wouldnt have fed the good bacteria

i feel realy realy styupid over the facti dont have a test kit

they cost too much. i wolud get oen if i had spare left over money.
