Sand As Substrate - Would You Recommend?

Well, IF and when I get my much bigger tank, I will be making the puchase.. fed up with these rock things lol!

As a question:

If the stones carry good bacteria too, will the sand do too?

Hi, Very little of the beneficial bacteria is in the substrate, unless your using an under gravel filter but then sand isnt an option.

Sand it is then, Glad I saw this and thank tank is absolutely gorgeous!
It looks so much more natural!

I just left the sink on the bucket for half an hour, stirring it up with my hand during commerical breaks while I was watching TV.

After loading the tank, I did a 100% water change after an hour, and then another one after 24 hours. Clear water now.

if you are a lover of live plants i would highly recommend jmc mandoon (i think its called)it turns harmfull substances into fertilizer for the plants its constantly regenerating the goodness and minerals from the harmfull substances like a starter motor on a car if this is any conselation lol.it looks good aswell.i am sticking to this now forever,fact, well untill they design a better substrate.i would 100% point you in this direction and could 99%garrentee you would like this (4cm deep in a 70x35x40 98ltr tank 15.99 so depends on your price range)
