Sand And Internal Filters

iv heard about air pockets r suming simalir that builds up in sand and is harmful to fish if u dont break the pockets of air, ill try find the link! (but with th corys diging i think it will be ok)

I also have sand, the only thing I find is after a while if I don't keep flattening it, it tends to gather in mounds towards the end of the tank where my filter inlets are. But I've never had a problem with it going into the filters or anything.

Thats with very deep sand which is over an inch or 2 high.

Mine will only be a 1-3cms so its not a problem.

Also, if you keep stirring it, it will be ok and digging fish will keep it aerated

like qays said, the air pockets only form if you have sand over about 2 inches. i have sand a little over 1 inch deep and i never stir it and i still havent seen any air pockets.
