Sand And Airstones

how do you guys keep a airstone from disturbing the sand substrate? its only very slight and localized to the immediate area but i still dont like it, can i stand the airstine on a bit of stone or slate, or something else?

To answer the question, yes you can put the airstone on a solid surface. The other option is to use a valve to restrict the flow of air into the stone, to such an extent that the sand is not disturbed.

thank you, i will dig out something for it to sit on, i really love my erupting volcano and my shrimps love it more so would hate to not have it,

Be careful when you put it in, start the airstone THEN put it in the sand. I accidentally traumatized one of my fish.
