Salt In Freshwater

does any of you out there add a little salt to new water when doing a water change?..i heard it helps keep the tank in tip top shape with parasites etc...

Salt is not needed in freshwater tanks except as a medicine.

I add no salt ever for healthy freshwater fish. If I have a specific disease that I know to be cured by salt, I use a therapeutic dose in the tank.
