i have a tank with cardinal tetras, one guppy, one oto, two ghost shrimp, and lots of live plants. recently the cardinals have been having problems with ich. i'd like to add some aquarium salt to help them heal and prevent more infections. is aquarium salt safe to ues with tetras?

I wouldn't use salt with tetras personally.

If they have ich I'd put the temperature up to 82F and use a good whitespot/ich treatment, for 10-14 days to make sure the ich is well and truely beaten.

Totally agree with Anna, I would go the whole hog to 86F with tetras, will clear up whitespot in 3-4 days with no treatment. Any dedicated fish shop Ive been in does the same and like me doesnt see white spot as a threat to the fish. If the med you add doesnt specifically damage your filter, the lack of oxygen they create will...
