came down this morning to find one of my male platys had jumped out the tank over night

it could only happen to me suicide bloody fish

Trust me it's not just you!
Lost a Glass Bloodfin tetra once, couldnt find him anywhere. when we moved house we found him dried up stuck to the carpet behind the tank... :crazy:

Aww thats very sad. It happened to me once - I had a dannio do the same thing - very upsetting to think of them struggling away :no:

he was a little sod hassling the other fish karma i guess but it must have happened a fair few hours ago he was very crispy

That happened to me the first day I ever kept fish. Bought 4 platies and only 3 next morning. The other was on the floor but there was only a small aperture for the heater and filter wires.

What is it with Platys - they are supposed to be a peaceful community fish! I had one called Barney who was also an annoying little sod. He made the other Platys life a hell and my black Phantom tetras and anyone else he could get away with it! He was a smart little sod cos when i tried to catch him he shot off round the back of my 3d background and was continually peeping round the corner to see if I was still trying to get him. After that when he was being really bad I would get the fish net out and shake it at the outside of the tank and he would shoot off round the back giving the others half an hours peace until he crept back round! I can still picture his little beady eyes peeping round the corner! :lol:
