Rosy barb colour fade

Is this normal color for them? I feel like the color is fading. Water params: ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate about 7. @Byron @Colin_T @Russjw

The edge of the tail looks like it has a milky white edge to it. This is normally caused by poor water quality or something in the water irritating the fish.

Are you using tap water, well water or river water?

Is it a normal rosy barb or a gold rosy barb?
It's a normal colour for the gold colour form but not normal for a normal rosy barb.

Normal rosy, i use well water gh between 2-3 dh.

Well water can be stagnant and have no oxygen in. It should be aerated for at least 30 minutes before adding it to an aquarium.

You could try filtering the well water with carbon before using it. That would reduce or remove any chemicals that might have leached into the well.

My well water is already cycled for some reason and no i didnt aerate before adding in. Ph is 7.5

No, I don't think so, that looks like a water tank.

Does the fish have any other tank mates? If he does, the fading could be caused by stress.

But the water is from underground though, tank mate is swordtail.

Oh, then it might be well water, I don't know for sure.

That defenitly rules out the stress issue. Have you recently moved the tank, added anything new to the tank, etc?

His pair died about 4 months ago cause of old ages. He might be sad.
