Hi I've had my tank a good few years now and the light refectors are really showing their age now and dont fit any more is there something else i could use like foil of something or is it just as cheap and easy to replace them with new ones.

Also i have been told i should have replaced the lights every year ??? surely not ????

Thanks

I have used tin foil before mate, works well, but if you can replace with the proper stuff then i would do that. As for tubes, i replace when i need to. But yes, general advice is to replace pretty often, even if they still work.

+1. i was also advised to change tubes yearly. something to do with them stopping producing the right type of 'rays' after 12months!!

:good:

Foil will probably work better than the white reflectors that come with the roma.

I thought the theory about replacing tubes every year was nonsense?

I tried the tin foil on my 180 when I broke the reflectors, its a good substitute, in the end I pinched the reflectors from my 125 to replace them. Much better to have originals.

no more nails some white, small, garden shed guttering to the underside, its not quite a 100% reflection but it does reflect. :)
