Rocks From Mountain Suitable For A Tank?

Whilst out skiing today came across some shale / slate type rocks on the side of the piste. Would be a nice momento from the holiday to have something to add to the tank.

There is obviosuly some lichen n the rocks but if they were boiled several times and scraped clean would they be suitable for a tank?

Has anyone done similar before?

i wouldnt i added rocks i found at the sea side, over a period of a few weeks 7 fish died

how about just an average, ordinary rock? would that be safe after boiling?

i think there is a test where you drop some vinegar on the rock and if it bubbles you shouldnt use it...but im not sure how it goes...if its from the mountains its probably ok to add

if you put vinegar on it and it fizzes then it will raise the PH but aqua essentials sell mountain rock
