Road Trip - Lfs Suggestions Wanted!

Hi all,
I'm on holiday at the end of next week in Lancashire and I was wondering if anyone had any reccommendations of fishy shops on the way to visit.
I normally go to Aquajardin and the Aquatic habitat when I go up the M5 but rarely go further than that - last time we made a stop off at Pier Aquatics in Wigan which was well worth the detour but I would welcome any other suggestions from forum members!

That was going to be my suggestion :good:

Oasis Aquatics in Salford is definitely worth a trip although it's not in Lancashire :good:

Wharf aquatics in Nottinghamshire deserves a visit if you ever get the chance. :good:

I have been to Wharf before but not on route this time :unsure:

Has anyone been to Fish Finatics in Burscough - the advert on Aquarist Classified looks good.

Quick bump as its this weekend were on the road - particularly interested in any unusual Angels or CA/SA Cichlids (would love to get my hands on an EBJD! :drool:

May be worth a quick trip to Maidenhead @ Wigan if you are heading to pier aquatics. It's not absolutely amazing but it's pretty decent, i've had some nice fish from there! They have a good balance of common fish from the trade and a nice selection of African/American Cichlids. They always have nice fully grown Oscars too, and every so often they'll have a few nice surprises in, like a fully grown Asian Aro I remember once which was a beauty. Dry goods and coldwater/pond stuff is as expected maidenhead quality too.

The staff are really useful aswell, always happy to help. They are understaffed though, if I had to find one critism.

Just another potential drop in for you, it's literally a matter of seconds off junction 27 on the M6. Go towards the BP garage but before there is a road to your left called Back Lane. Go down until you come to a garden centre called 'Golden days' The shop can be found within the Centre :good:
