Ro Vs Tap

like it says RO vs tap what do you think most of my
fish keeping yrs i used tap water with no problems

i keep good angels and discus.. in tap water and ro/tap mix water. find it not very happy with everything. plants/ catfish.. so and so..


now i am tring SERA black water extract which make water go soft in secs without changeing PH...
for start.. i add 80ml for 450l of water. then this... blackwater-effect



last night my woman sayed.. she thinks my fish are look very happy...

Ive always used tap water but then ive never kept any really sensitive fish.

ive kept discus, angels, corys, tetras, rainbows and many other fish in tap with no issues. just reduce the ro slowly and they will get use to it

acclimatized it in the normal way
the next few day fish gets ill and dies
any possibility's

It stands for Reverse osmosis.

if the fish or fishes are acclimatised for long enough then coming from ro to tap isnt an issue. ive done it many times with no deaths, just take your time and do it slowly.
people that use ro will add suppliments back into it as 100% ro will be just pure water without any trace elements. these are whats added back in as the fish and plants use them. some people do a mix of ro and tap water again to add back in some trace elements and to get the pH at the required level.
there should be no issue transfering a fish from ro to tap water if done correctly and not rushed.

i still think it would be nice to inform all customers
that there fish are kept in RO water as i think a lot
of fish losses could be reduced i think that's what explains
a lot on here with new fish dieing within a few days of been
purchased
