Ro Unit Help!

Well I have just got myself a 4 Stage RO unit from Collins Water Products... now I have the instructions but find them slightly bleak in order to set this thing up.

I have the blue RO element, which i have no idea on how to secure into the final section on the filter, I have the lid off but cannot see a way it will secure itself to the inside.

Also is the outlet, simply a piece of the small tubing into where ever I am storing the water?

I understand that it seems like im a complete plank, but never had any use with these before and underestimated the quality of instructions that were given. so pardon my noob'ishnees

any help would be greatlyyyyyyy appreciated.

You should have bought mine, I`d have left the tubing attached for you

What`s the make of the RO unti you have? I`m thinking that there may well be an instructional video on youtube that could possibly help you out

haha trust you Its from Collins water products, doesnt have a name attached or anything, ive tried looking lol.

I know i understand and WISH i had now but for the cost i just thought to myself, 54 quid posted for a brand new one I cant go wrong!


wellllllllllllll how wrong was I! There just seems to be no way of shutting it off after use or nothing, just simply the plug to attach it to the intake one and thats it!

Hmm, it certainly desn`t sound right does it? Have you tried to contact the place you got it from, they might be able to help you out if it`s something simple?

Mine is still for sale, purely because I haven`t got my backside in gear to list it on ebay yet I`d actually hate to see you spend more money now though IF it`s going to be something small and simple that will sort your RO system out.

I don`t know what to suggest for yours because this D-D one was so easy to do and there was no need to work around anything.....I`m really sorry I can`t give you any tips or advice, hopefully someone will be able to though

A typical 4 stage, I have one installed in my home, has 2 stages of pre-filters that run through thin tubing. Next up is the RO itself, in line between the prefilters and the final filter. In my arrangement the final filter is a carbon filter to remove odors from the water coming through the RO. Everything is done with very small diameter tubing from start to finish. The RO itself should have 2 outlets. One is for product water and the other is for waste water. If you are not sure which outlet is which, connect up the pre-filters and the RO and lay the thing in the kitchen sink. The outlet showing tons of flow is the waste side, the side with a bare dribble is the clean water side. If you follow things from inlet to outlet you have Pre-filter 1, a coarse filter, Pre-filter 2, a finer filter, RO, with dual outlets, final filter, and finally out to your tank. If you have a pressurized storage tank like I do, the storage tank is placed between the RO and the final filter. It doesn't treat the water but it makes it far easier to use since you can draw off gallons of water quickly from the storage tank.
