honestly they are an ok lfs....the ammonia and all that has gone is 100% my fault....

Some lfs don't deserve to be selling fish but they are some good ones around aswell.
Glad you found a good one as there not that many of them around.

i have 4 lfs near me...and only one is good...they realy do help and advise and not just there to make money...there tanks and fish are all top spec...but...the others are not so good !!! and one of them have about 8 mbu's in there at the moment..there tanks and fish are not up to spec...but thats the same about every thing theres always a good and bad...

So sorry, Sharon. You did all you could to save him, and that's all that could be asked. Are you sure you want to sell the tank??? Don't make a rash decision right now...you may regret it.

Why put him to sleep? Why not let mark take him and put him in a clean tank while you get it sorted out? Ammonia that high alone is enough to cause the symptoms you are describing. You are the one killing him.

if i thought riley has a chance ..i would 100% ask mark to look after him for me...my water readings are ok here...i have ph back in the tank...and my lfs have also tested my water...the ammonia is a fasle reading as i amm still putting ammo lock in.....

you say im the one killing !!!i have done all i can...and while riley was still trying so was i...riley has given up now...

what do you want me to do...take a nearly dead fish out of his home and put him in another tank to die slowly and in pain..not to mention the amount of stress it would cause riley...

riley is on his back now...fighting for breath...the damage has been done and he has been ill for 2 weeks now....the poor bloody thing has had enough !!!! the move to another tank would be to much for him anyway..

if riley gave me some sort of sign today that there was still a chance i would ask mark to take him..i would always do what is best for riley...

dont you think this is hard enough for me without you telling me i am the one killing him...when the vet comes today they will tell me if i am doing right and on the phone they agreed with me...

if riley gets up today before the vets come ...i will put it all on hold...but he has been on his back since yesterday...i am not an expert in this but i do know what riley is telling me !!!

Been Following both posts from the start . i feel so sorry for the heart wrenching decision your having to make really did hope he'd pull through so hard to see one of your beloved pet's rapidly go downhill and suffer

Your both in my thoughts

thank you so much...xxxxxx

i wouldnt say putting it to sleep is the best option. While the fish is alive it has a chance. Mbus are extremely sensitive fish and need pristine water. Your water to be honest is crap its been full of ammonia and now swimming with all sorts of chemicals all of which will mess up your mbu. Your best bet is to bring him to mine he will certainly die in your tank. Yes the stress of the move may polish him off but there is always a chance. Why put him to sleep you will always think maybe i could of helped if you try and he dies least you know you did everything you could.

yeah, kinda feel like one last chance. you've a choice

1 - keep him in these conditions where he will almost certainly die

2 - take a chance and move him to marks, yes he might die but he might not

3 - get a vet to put him to sleep

only option two has any realistic chance of survival for him which should be the ultimate aim.

i completely agree with mark and miss wiggle,at least if you let mark have him for a bit you know that in your heart you have done everything possible to save him, dont give up on him just yet, alot of people on here will really admire you for giving him that extra chance, please sharon let mark have him for a while,
