Since I have just completely soaked myself, the living room and the cabinet with a wrongly set up external filter, I need you lot to console me by basically owning up!!! I have done ALL of these things. Please calm me down someone, tell me you've done all these things too?!!

A) Set up an external wrong!
B) Soaked your living room, personage and electrical devices!
C) Not cleaned your filter out for ages or done a water change and suffered the consequences!
D) Overstocked!
E) Stocked incompatibly!
F) Spent way too much on stuff and then sold it off a week later for half the price you paid the week before!
G) Got rid of fish because you were just bored and wanted a change!

I feel like a right wrong'un tonight. I should be happy cos I'm setting up my new Trigon but I'm stressed and upset now!!!

Is it still not going to plan Mel?

Ive done D, E and G!! In fact Im still doing D.

I will be calm eventually
I basically never set my external up right the first time in the 4ft tank - the pipes weren't long enough and have always leaked at times, but OMG I was on my own, I tried to turn the tap a bit to remove the tap hub and it just went, I was drenched, all alone - couldn't call for help. I don't know how I didn't electrocute myself. I yanked the inlet so hard I don't know how I didn't break it. The living room is soaked. 3 towels are in the dryer. I am with wine now. I have done a big of the filter and the garden should benefit nicely from the crud that had collected in it. Now I have uber long pipeage for the Trigon and will NEVER let myself get into the situation again!

havnt done anything really bad, but once when i wasnt concentrating i overfilled my bucket when doing a water change and spilled about 2 litres onto the upstairs carpet. luckily it didnt effect it much after mopping up

I've done D and E in the past.

But now I'm PERFECT :p :D lol. I joke.

Actually, that's not true, I have to get a bigger tank because I had to take a gibbi back of someone. So I'm going to be overstocked soon :D.

That's at home though...once I flooded the entire marine room with 2" deep of RO water because I forgot I was filling up a bucket at the LFS .

oh man! I have over stocked and stocked things that dont go together...i still stock things that dont go togethr if i dont have problems...... But i also had a fish jump out of my tank and onto my laptop, i didnt notice it......closed my laptop. Next time i used my laptop i found my gourami......

Let's see.... I've done
B- not paying attention when doing a water change. Bucket fills up too much before I notice and proceeds to get everywhere.
C- I just cleaned out the filters in our 29gal last week. The flow coming from both were trickles and had been that way for a while, but I was just too lazy to fix it.
E- Yep! Didn't do research on some fish before we got them. Bad us!

i never pay attention when gravel vaccing and miss the bucket. At work i have done it with about 60L of water onto the floor and i didin't notice :)

fun fun

I just dumped water all over myself in monday when I was doing a water change. The worst part was that there was no one else to blame. Of course, my tank's in a school, and everyone who walked by had to make some sort of smart comment.

Must admit when I first started and didn't know any better (i.e. nitrogen cycle) I got fed up with my poorly fish and so left things too long between water changes, obviously making things a lot worse! Sorted myself out though now so hopefully will not be making any of the above mistakes again!

A) Set up an external wrong!

Yup, several times. Teaches you how to trouble shoot one :hyper:

B) Soaked your living room, personage and electrical devices!

Yes, I cannot clean out an exturnal without making a mess (hence why I now do it over a rug) and one of several nick-names at work is Flood! due to what happend to the fishroom floor when I'm waterchanging. I've overfilled the Discus tank onto wall mounted plug sockets before now also, getting a nice smell of burning and a lot of crackling out of them :X

C) Not cleaned your filter out for ages or done a water change and suffered the consequences!

Not waterchanging for a while is what I ultimately put the caurse of death over two of my Discus down to. Missed waterchanges for two weeks running and suddenly after six to eight months of going fine, I had disease set riot in the tank

D) Overstocked!

Yes, almost always do

E) Stocked incompatibly!

Mirraculesly, in over fourteen years of fishkeeping, I've only managed this one once...

F) Spent way too much on stuff and then sold it off a week later for half the price you paid the week before!

Not done this once as yet

G) Got rid of fish because you were just bored and wanted a change!

Nor this one...

Other things, hum.... Electric shocking yourself with dodgy equimpment. Not fun if you aren't expecting it, but strangely enjoyable if you are expecting it... erm... Breaking heaters by not switching them off before waterchanging aswell....

All the best
