Hi
I'm Di, 60 years old (sigh) and i haven't kept an aquarium for the past 6 years but thought i'd get back into the hobby.
I'm starting off with a 34 litre 60x24x26 aquascape tank with opticlear glass and lid, i didn't want anything too big to start with but as i well know, we all end up with multiple tanks. I'm still waiting for the tank to arrive but i did manage to find some spider wood today and over the next few weeks i'll be collecting everything that i need to get started (my list is long). What i'm planning to do once cycled is to have a small colony of shrimp and then a few weeks later i'll be adding a dumbo betta fish and that will be it. I can't wait to get started and i'll update as i go.

Welcome to the forum. I am another one from the UK. Have fun reading the threads and boards, there is an absolute wealth of information in here that I have found extremely interesting as well as very informative.

Hi Di,
Welcome to our forum & welcome back to the hobby... :hi:
Once you've got the tank running, we'd appreciate some photos. So, don't be a stranger...;)

Thanks, i'll definitely be having a read up to refresh my mind as it's been a while.

I've never quit fishkeeping, and I fear if I did, I'd last about a week before I restarted. It's fun, and I'm glad you've come back to it. I constantly learn from people who post here, and I'm about to enter my sixtieth year as a fishkeeper.

I agree, it is a fun hobby. I'm still waiting for my new tank to arrive and i'm already thinking about tank number 2 🫣

If you’re getting back into the hobby after a break, I’d keep the first setup simple and avoid changing too many things at once. It makes it much easier to see what’s actually working as the tank settles in.

Welcome to our merry band and welcome back to the hobby. You've found the right think tank.
