Hi all! I'm happy to find an aquarium forum that still appears to be active. I quit the aquarium hobby about 10 years ago because I had too much going on. I recently quit/retired from my stressful job and have decided to get back into the hobby. As luck would have it, I was unable to unload my tanks and supplies in yard sales, so I'm taking that as a sign. :) I have a 20 gal long, a 10 and a 5.

My interests are mostly in planted tanks, snails, and bettas. I LOVE mystery snails! I'd like to get some shrimp this time once I get a nice planted tank going. And maybe some type of bottom-dwelling fish. Any recommendations on a snail-friendly one?

I'm also interested in gardening, wildlife and backyard birding, hence my user name.

Welcome back to the hobby. We have many active members here who share their knowledge, experience and enthusiasm about keeping freshwater fish.
Consider entering and voting in our 3 contests...fish of the month, tank of the month, and pet of the month. Hope you find value in our forums and enjoy your time here.

I'll vouch for the fact that people are helpful here (and very tolerant of all of my questions). I'm just getting back into the hobby following last keeping fish in the90's. There is loads of brilliant information on here.

Hey ! Glad you found us and welcome to THE GREAT TFF Forum ! Set up all three of your aquariums right now , you will anyway 🤣 . This is the greatest tropical fish forum ever and you’ll find that out real soon . We’ve been waiting for you !

Well hi & welcome to our forum... :hi:
And welcome back to the hobby, of course...:yahoo:

If you keep an eye out in other threads, you'll discover that there have been several people who found the forum recently after years in the wilderness, away from fishtanks. There's something good here that draws people back.

Fishkeeping fashions change, and fish popularity and availability shifts, but the the hobby and the interesting personality types we meet in it don't. Welcome back!

So true! Social media has kind of killed the hobby forums. Glad to see this one thriving. Looks like a really good group here!

This forum is not just thriving but REALLY thriving ! It’s a power unknown to most . And the people ? The regulars are great people . I feel like I know many of them personally . Find that on FB with its hordes of trolls and know it alls . The best thing is the well thought out and worded considered responses you get here . There’s really nothing at all like The Great TFF Forum anywhere else in the entire known universe .
