Restocking The 90Gal

Before:

Current:
(Still a little bit cloudy from the change over)

The power head will likely be removed as it's not really necessary and I may lay the thermometer down to make it look better/hide it more.

Fish colors really pop now:

Making some progress. I still have a nice piece of Mopani wood soaking and still need to add some more plants to kind of fill it in a bit and establish different territories and sight breaks.

But this is where we are at so far:

And a little side view:

Just be aware that breeding salvini pairs will defend a 6 foot radius so be careful

Hey just saw the pics for the first time, you might want to get some taller ornaments, as the fish will still be able to see each other over the ones you have now. Try and get something that can a large cichlid can completely hide behind.  Have you decided on your stocking yet?

Yeah, so far I haven't found anything bigger than 12" I've been looking or something in the 18" range to try and create a little more depth and coverage in the rear.

Added a few more plants. Just waiting for the last piece of Malaysian driftwood to finish soaking. Then all thats left is to add it to the tank and start getting the rest of the fish that will inhabit the tank.

Cool :) those rainbows are beaufiful!

heres a pic of my tank, there are some really dense hiding places where a fish can easily get out of sight. Its a 50 gallon planted

Yes, most likely 1 firemouth, 1 convict and 1 blue Acara.

Any good ways to positively distinguish a young Blue Acara from a young GT? I know it's way too easy to confuse the two and a GT would end up slaughtering my tank with what I have and plan to add.

Here's some pics of him, what do you think? BA or GT?

I would say BA, I cant fully remember how to do the full ID for GT but at that size I reckon you can usually tell the shape difference - nice looking fish :)

Wills

Definitely BA. GT's are different in the face. Nice tank you got going!
