Levi has recently starting resting a lot more than he used to. He looks fine, is eating fine, swims up most times when I look in the tank and always comes up to be fed. No laboured breathing or anything to be concerned about really, except the fact he's almost always on the floor! It's the change in bahaviour that's bothered me, he always used to be midswim when I approached before. Is there likely to be anything wrong?

I don't think there's anything wrong, he might just be getting old. My new betta Bruno started resting on the floor, I gave him a bloodworm and now he's always swimming around.

Do you have any ping pong balls, some people float them on the top of the water for the betta to push around.

He did have an issue with tail shredding a while ago and I tried the ping pong ball and he completely ignored it. He has a few marbles in there too which he also ignores. I have a mirror and little plastic fish which Rufus loves to flare at, but Levi never flares at anything.
I'm not sure how old he was when I got him, he was from p@h and was quite big. I've only had him a few months though.
He does love bloodworm, but I keep them as a treat :)

I'm sure your betta is ok, maybe just wants a rest or something? One of my goldfish once did that in the day and turns out she was asleep lol i tryed moving her with my hand and onyl 5 mintues later she wriggled and was fine again haha!
Just try different things out, not all bettas enjoy the same things.

sounds pretty normal to me. as they get older or become used to their tank and the layout, they only do moderate "patrols" of the tank compared to the behavior when they were first introduced (which is more like "must look for intruders....must look for intruders"...or "whats this?" what's this"....you know, always exploring about)
id say he is comfortable and feels no threats are around so he can just loaf about. if you were to really change around the decor in the tank, i bet he'd become more active again. but in the meantime, as long as eating and he appears overall healthy and interactive wehn fed, nothing to worry about...youve just got a couch potato on your hands:)
cheers
