Hi everyone!
I currently have a 4ft 200L tropical tank that has been up & running for roughly 1yr now. We should be moving into our new place within the next month, so I thought I'd look at a rescape for the tank.

It's not heavily planted right now, & I'd like to avoid a densely planted tank anyways as I like the simple look, however I want healthy plants. I currently use sand as a substrate. Would someone be able to inform me of a good substrate mix (I do prefer the sand look) & fert doseing I should be looking at? Please keep in mind I'm in Australia so brand names may be useless.

Sand is fine. As for ferts, API products are good and I do believe they are available in Australia.

Well, if you like the sand look then maybe some root tabs under the plants in the sand and some ferts containing micro/trace elements. :)

Root tabs - what are these? I currently use Flourish as a fert anyways, should I use something else?

I keep reading about kitty litter on this board. Should I look into this?

I just ran out and threw the bottle out  I think it was just normal, not Excel. I could be wrong. White and green bottle? Lol.
